Nearly there

So I have finished my x-mas shopping, iced the cake and bought some of the booze. I am excited about having my Christmas this year. We, my friends and I, had a chat about trying to make it more festive. Don't get me wrong I always love x-mas but it's over so quickly. You wait all December for this one day and then suddenly it's over.

We tried tricks in the past such as saving a gift for the evening etc but this year we are going all out. Each of us is making food for the day. I have made a traditional Christmas cake, my first ever. It's baked to a recipe my mother gave me, doused in brandy, coated in marzipan and I iced it Friday night! We are also going to cook together which should be fun. We have planned games as well. The tradition of cocktails and charades on boxing day will be into it's second year!

This year has flown past. I am glad it's Christmas again but I hope I spend more time enjoying next year.
