All Hallows Eve

I am always unsure about halloween. I used to buy sweets ready for the hordes of nice children yelling trick or treat. I don't bother anymore as apparently the second floor is too high for the fat little sweet munching, hoodie wearing, heading towards diabetes little bastards to climb.

Kids of today huh? I am pretty sure as a kid I would go quite some distance for a sweet. These days it's more like asking for money with menace. It seems like cash ruins most of the stuff that's good and fun about any cool holiday. The supermarkets have been selling halloween stuff for weeks. Loads of expensive crap. It's such a shame.

On the bright side there are fireworks this weekend! Brilliant. I always seem to become a kid again when the fireworks are on. Of course afterwards I grow up and head for the pub. This year I have to take it easy as I have an Aikido class early Sunday Morning. The one last night left me feeling like I have had a kicking.

Still feeling my way with this blogging lark again. It's nice to witter on.

Dead Set

Who would have thought anything good would come from big brother? Once upon a time big brother was innovative and interesting... then they made a second series. Originally it was a decent idea and social experiment, now it's a corporate cash cow that takes money from the gullible. Sure phone and vote for your most hated or favourite housemate, spend your money to fund channel four salaries.

Anyway big brother = a pile of toss.

Now though they have made something cool out of the dross that big brother was jammed together from. Anyone like 28 days later? The exceptional zombie genre remake where the zombies are fast and scary as shit.

Dead set, which I am still watching, is big brother/28 days later smashed together with some funny stuff.

I love it.

If you have four on demand you have to take time out and watch it. Watch it now!!!!!

Resigned to our fate?

It seems like we have no power over anything. I was doing ok. Usual worries over money and the future etc then suddenly, global recession!

How is my flat suddenly worth less than it was a year ago? It seems hardly fair. What also seems a little unfair is that those responsible seem to go on without being punished. Steal £50 from petty cash and you can end up in real trouble. Lose billions through risky financial practice and nothing happens?

Hmm. Perhaps if all politican salaries were exactly the national average (updated every couple of months) they'd be keener. In fact while we are at it, the kids of politicans should have to go to the nearest state school to their house and they should only be able to use the NHS(no private care). I think there would be a lot more investment in the NHS and in state schools if this were the case.

Grrr.
Jimmy likes you. Jimmy would like to go on a date with you. That makes Jimmy smile.
